How to boil raw milk at home
A simple, careful routine for boiling raw milk at home before you drink it or cook with it.
Ingredients
- 1.5 L raw milk
- A clean, heavy-based pan
- A wooden spoon
- A clean jug or bottle with a lid
- 1
Pour the milk into a clean, heavy-based pan with room to spare.
- 2
Heat over medium heat and stir often so it does not catch on the bottom.
- 3
Stay with the pan as the milk heats, because it can rise quickly.
- 4
Bring the milk to a full rolling boil.
- 5
Lower the heat if it starts to rise, keep it boiling briefly, then turn it off.
- 6
Let the milk cool, stirring now and then.
- 7
Pour it into a clean jug or bottle and cover it.
- 8
Keep it in the fridge.
